Month: April Year: 2009

He who kills time injures eternity.
Take time to think- it is the source of power.
Take time to play- it is the secret of perpetual youth.
Take time to read- it is the fountain of wisdom.
Take time to pray- it is the greatest power on earth.
Take time to love and be loved- it is a God-given privilege.
Take time to be friendly- it is the road to happiness.
Take time to laugh- it is the music of the soul.
Take time to give- it is too short a day to be selfish.
Take time to work- it is the price of success.

Dearest friends,
We pray you are well, trusting God for the times we are living, and believing there are many blessings ahead!
We have started this year with many blessings… in the photo you can see Humberto speaking at the south pastoral council of the city of Córdoba monthly meeting.
Our school of music starts this month, and we are expecting to grow in the amount of students. Through this we make music available to people who otherwise would not be able to send their children to learn (we have a few brave adult students!). Half of our students have been from other churches in the area. We have an excellent staff of Christian music teachers.
We had our first marriage seminar at church, and delighted to have 7 new couples attend. A young woman who became a Christian some months ago, (with a MS condition), asked to be baptized yesterday… she has grown so much in her faith, in spite of her sickness… we continue to pray for her parents, as she is an only child and they are very discouraged in this situation. I am also meeting weekly with a woman who discovered an advanced breast cancer… to pray and to teach her the Word.
Praise the Lord our Escuela de Vida (School of Life) which we have on Tuesday nights open to all has grown to 60 students, and we have 8 different classes to suit the needs of the people… for new ladies, for men, for teenagers, and so forth. As the weather is still very warm, even for fall, you can see small groups of people with chairs all over the church property yard.
Some weeks ago a man from church was returning to his home after the morning Sunday service when a salesman from a business two places down stopped him and asked him how he could know more about the Lord! The man was then invited to church, then his wife came, then his 17 year old son. About 2 months ago an ex- rock musician (who had become a Christian some years ago but never established himself in a church) joined Manantial de Vida (our congregation), and he and his wife and child are being healed and ministered to.
In March Nathalie, 20, Sebastian, 17 and Ari, 24, traveled to Buenos Aires to the annual retreat prepared for pastors’ children, which is something they enjoy and where they meet kids like them. (If you remember, last year the 2 younger kids could not travel due to the strikes and complications, which are back again this year, but not quite as strong).
We have been invited to Uruguay to a pastors and wives conference to teach this July, and Ari is also invited to teach to the pastors’ kids. (I must say, trying to be modest! that our son is turning out to be quite a speaker… the Lord is using him to challenge young people in different places… he is humorous, and is very creative in his presentations. We could not be happier as parents!)
And we will be traveling to Orán, Salta, up north, to have a marriage conference. Funds have been provided for this from the States, and the pastor there has asked us to help him with many couples (about 400) who are coming in great need to the church there.
What more can I say? Just keep us in your prayers, and yes, if the Lord leads you, consider a gift for us in Argentina. Even though times may be difficult financially even in the States, we pray the giving may abound! That the crises may be more of a reason to continue giving and serving the Lord even more!
And of course, as a family we are looking forward to our trip to the States in June, to be at the Saint family reunion (www.saintfamilyreunion.com), and three whirlwind weeks of meetings and activities. We are praying the Lord will provide the finances and opportunities to be a blessing there!

Prayer requests:

  1. Flight expenses for June 2009 U$ 4,800.
  2. Car rental for 3 weeks.
  3. Funds for a newer bass guitar for Ariel U$ 800
  4. Funds to produce new teaching material U$ 500 each.
  5. Electric guitar for Sebastian U$ 300.

Be blessed!                   Evelyn
