This is the true joy of life. The being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one… I want to be thoroughly used up when I die. For the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got to hold up for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing in on to future generations.  George Bernard Shaw

Dearest friends,
This is just a personal letter for family and friends… to be in touch with you and share some recent events! Our present President’s wife, Cristina Kirchner, is running for the elections this end of the year, and the whole country is election mad with all the politicians and promoting… Our minister of finance, a woman, had to resign some weeks ago because an envelope with over U$ 100,000 cash was found in the office, unregistered… Such is the way of things.
But the purpose of this note was to write to you and ask you to especially pray for me these days. Four weeks ago, I slipped and fell backwards in a bathroom –flat out!- in Carlos Paz, a small town where we were staying as a family, resulting in a small wound on my head (they “glued” it back together), and even though the X rays revealed nothing, I kept having dizziness most of the time, and especially when I made shifting movement with my head. Needless to say, this brought concern to Humberto, especially, and of course, I was wondering what was going on. The dizziness continued for almost three weeks. Finally a physical therapist told me I should check into my neck area, for which I found an osteopathic doctor just a few blocks from home who finally found what was causing the problem (a displaced vertebrae in my neck).  So, I have had a several sessions with her, and yesterday she told me I could discontinue my treatment, as long as I kept some simple rules (No sweeping, no ironing for a month!! Among other things…). I have to be very wise in this, and “take it easy”, and put hot water bottles on my neck as often as I can.
As you can imagine, it has meant a time of reflection, and adjustment to the necessary changes, as also sorting out my activities and priorities. It has also been challenging for Humberto to also help me in these changes… I do have a headachy feeling and slight dizziness occasionally these days. It has also meant a deep examination into our stress issues, the burdens of the ministry, and learning to once again put everything absolutely back on the altar… As we have also been tried in a series of different situations these last months.
So, now that these weeks have come and gone, I wanted to share this with you: pray for us, and ask the Lord to guide us and encourage us especially these days. There are so many challenges and opportunities to do so much all the time, and we need to be, as a family and as persons, very wise in the care and use of our bodies and lives. Just last week we had a breakfast with the mayor of our city, and Humberto was the opening speaker, sharing on the challenges of leadership from the life of Nehemiah, to about 300 businesspeople and (evangelical) Christians. I will be sharing more in our regular newsletter later on… God is good and faithful!
We are so grateful to the Lord, for He has been abundantly kind and good to us.So, thanks for being there, thank you for your prayers, YOU ALL ARE SO SPECIAL AND DEAR TO ME AND MY FAMILY.
